Welcome to Mosey's Guides official website. For now we are a landing page, eventually we will be an interactive map and directory of local artists studios, workshops and events.

Everyday theres more nooks and crannies full of the wonderfully weird.

Yet everyday it seems we run into them less and less.

Why is that? I think we've all got theories.

What can we do about it? Us, this.

This is our attempt to combat the drugery of modern day repetativeness by showcasing the glorious world all around us and the humans who make it so.

So welcome. Have a gander. Keep an eye out for the Wonderful

Your Guide to the Near and Wonderful

Online Map Coming Soon

Soon, our digital directory to local art spaces will be up and running. We have loads of plans, and were aiming big, really quite big. But its a step at a time, and this next step is just to have a working directory to inform our users of local art studios, galleries, workshops, and public murals which they can mosey on down too and visit.

The next step will be events, naturally, but were working on something much bigger. I'm going to leave it there for now, as much as I just want to blabber it out.

Your here now, for good reason I'm assuming. This is just a landing page, but its the start of something very cool. Sign up to our newsletter and we will keep you updated. Or bookmark us. Or tattoo a reminder on the inside of your pinky. Whatever you do, I hope you stay around and along for the ride.

Thank you, go for a wander,
Mosey

Meet some Artists

Meet some of the artists who give color and shape to San Pedro. Feel free to reach out to them and book an intimate tour of their art studio

Whats Coming?

What you see so far is phase one, but we have a lot more planned. We hope Mosey's becomes the art platform that artists deserve. Beyond a map and directory, we want artists to feel like they can curate their profile in a way that speaks to their style, choosing their own format and deciding their own structure. No algorithms to play into, no boxes to stuff their creativity into. Their page, their way.

And that goes for any kind of artist. The painters in their studios, the muralist whose gallery is the city itself, the poets and writers who express themselves without worrying about character counts or having visuals to accompany their words. We want Mosey's to be a place where artists can showcase themselves properly, because that serves our other purpose.

People need art. I could give you a hundred reasons rooted in anthropology and sociology, but I also don't quite know how to put that intuitive knowledge into words. What I do know is that we need to see art in our environment, to know that there are artists around us, and to meet them in our day to day lives. That was the original purpose of Mosey: to facilitate the conversations and meetings between people and their local artists. Not through a screen, not at galleries, but in their studios, at their events, where the artist is present and willing to talk and share, where ideas can be explored by curious and eclectic minds.

That is our other pillar. Showcasing the art that exists in our environments, and the artists who contribute to one of the most human aspects of life in any city.

Meet the art around you

Art is everywhere, and I don't mean that in a cliche way, it really is. Go for a wander and look for it, and if you need help, Mosey's will show you local artist and their studios, many of which will allow you to just pop in and have a chat. Let them explain their process to you, share your wacky ideas with them, let them help you ground it or make it wackier. Chat with great minds, explore your own great mind.

Buy their stuff

Curate your profile, your posts, your engagement. Your Way.

We want Mosey's to be more than just a directory/map. As an artist, you'll have your spot on the map which then leads users to your profile. This profile should be a reflection of you. Want to write a longwinded explanation for a painting you made? Go for it. Make a slow video, or a fast one. Whatever you feel like making and posting. Our algorithm wont prioritize the easy to consume, nor the people trying to consume the easy.

Be active in your community

None of us benefit from a segmented society. Don't just create, share your work, play a part , knock on someones door, have a chat, explore concepts together, create and attend events. Humans are group animals, and we struggle when we don't connect. So let's connect. No one will be able to share what you can, they way you can.

Let us know if you've got any ideas, any suggestions, or any complaints you'd like to share, or if you just want a chat.
